|Description:||Exploring a biomedical problem from an engineering perspective provides unique solutions to biomedical problems. Utilizing established chemical engineering principles, such as thermodynamics, mass transfer and reactor design, enables significant advances in human health and facilitates establishment of an industrial activity based on bioengineering principles. The Chemical Engineering – Biomedical Option retains all of the core courses of the Chemical Engineering program. It then adds courses specific to the biomedical sciences to provide students with the necessary background for employment in the biomedical field.|

This program does not allow admission directly from high school. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. All students in the Qualifying Year in the Faculty of Engineering follow a common curriculum in their first year. At the end of the first year, students choose among the various specialized Engineering programs offered and between the traditional and cooperative education streams. Students with transferable post-secondary coursework taken outside of the Faculty of Engineering are considered for admission based on GPA and relevant transfer credit.
