|Description:||Risk – it’s the potential for damage, loss or harm. Because those outcomes could be detrimental in business and government, many sectors need to understand the risks associated with products, profits, decisions and services. An actuary uses data and complex calculations to understand risk for their employers and inform smart business and investment decisions about issues ranging from pension plans to emergency relief funds.
The 120 credit hour major is suited to students who want to focus on Actuarial Science and prepare for sitting the Society of Actuaries examinations, but wish to have a program that is somewhat less constrained than the Honours program.
