Finance encompasses topics such as business finance, personal finance, investments, capital market theory, financial institutions and markets and international finance. The scope of Finance is broad. As such, this discipline requires that students have a sound background in Accounting and Economics.|

Applicants are required to have English 12 (academic or advanced); 1 Math 12 (academic or advanced) course; and 3 additional Grade 12 academic or advanced level courses, with a minimum overall average of 65%.
Cape Breton University has strong relationships with several english language partners including, International Centre EAP, English School of Canada (ESC), EC English Language School and ILAC. If your first language is not English, you will need to provide documentation to show that CBU’s English language proficiency requirements have been met. If you have completed at least two years in a secondary school (as recognized by CBU) where English is the primary language of instruction, you do not require a language score. Official documentation, however, is needed. If you have completed at least 30 credit hours (or equivalent) at a post-secondary institution (as recognized by CBU) where English is the primary language of instruction, you do not require a language score.
