This program will train you to diagnose problems, develop solutions, and formulate effective implementation and evaluation strategies for hiring, training, recruitment, and more. Graduates of this program can pursue the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation — the highest professional certification for HR professionals.
The Alberta School of Business offers one of the largest BCom programs in Canada, with five different degree types, 16 majors, and many opportunities for specialization and work experience, including student clubs, business incubators, case competitions, study abroad programs, and more.

There is no direct entry from high school into the Bachelor of Commerce program (BCom). Students must first complete a year of university in another Faculty or postsecondary institution and take courses in English, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. Admission to the BCom is competitive based on performance in the required courses and a student’s overall academic record. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. ★24 required, transferable to the University. (★ = units of course weight): Junior Level English (★6), which includes any 100-level English (★3) and a maximum of (★3) in WRS, ECON 101 (★3), ECON 102 (★3), MATH 113 or 114 (★3), STAT 151 (★3). Please consult the Faculty about any other courses appropriate to your major. Qualified applicants will have completed their preprofessional year with all required preprofessional courses and a minimum of ★24 University transferable courses. These applicants are ranked according to their grade point average in the most recent Fall/Winter (September to April consisting of at least ★15. Applicants must possess a minimum GPA of 2.3 before their application will be considered.
