Level I Applicants are required to have: English U; one of Grade 12 Mathematics of Data Management U (MDM4U), Advanced Functions U (MHF4U) or Calculus & Vectors U (MCV4U) – applicants who present with more than one of these math courses, the highest grade at the time of review will be used to calculate the admission average; Biology U; Chemistry U; one non-math or non-science U or M credit (note: PSE4U Exercise Science will satisfy this course requirement), note: Courses in technological education, science or mathematics are not acceptable; and one additional U or M credit to total six.
If you have been asked to meet our English Language Proficiency requirement, you must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving the minimum requirements as specified by McMaster. Acceptable tests of English Language Proficiency and their respective minimum score requirements are as follows: IELTS – 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.0 on each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening); CAE – 176 overall with minimum score of 154 in each component; PTE – 60 overall with minimum score of 60 in Writing and Speaking; CAEL – 70 overall; MELAB – 85 overall (minimum 80 in each of the three required components, minimum 3 in optional speaking component (Required)); TOEFL IBT – 86 overall with a minimum score of 20 on each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening).
