Description: We are excited that you are considering studies in the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University, which leads to a Bachelor of Health Sciences (B.H.Sc.) degree in Midwifery. The Program is offered on a full-time basis in English over a four-year period. The program reflects the philosophy of midwifery in Ontario and its focus on women participating in their healthcare. We work closely with practising midwives and other maternity care providers to ensure a high quality environment for students.

This collaborative program is a unique venture shared by McMaster University, Ryerson University and Laurentian University. The Ontario Midwifery Education Program is the oldest Midwifery Program in Canada and first enrolled students in 1993. Our graduates are working as midwives primarily in Ontario, but also in other parts of the country where midwifery is legally recognized.
