Description: This program is designed to prepare an individual for ministerial leadership in the located ministry and/or seminary. The student will: Express a thorough understanding of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. Express a Christian worldview. Experience the realities and envision the possibilities of located ministry, including the unique physical, moral, practical and spiritual demands of the leader’s life and work. Analyze various cultural contexts for ministry with particular emphasis on our diverse Canadian culture. Understand the principles of “restoration” in the Stone-Campbell movement. Demonstrate a willingness to love God and serve people. Demonstrate the basic skills necessary to effectively equip people in local ministry. Demonstrate missional skills such as Biblical interpretation, communication of scripture (preaching and teaching), people helping and leadership. Practice discipline and consecration in Christ, i.e. spiritual disciplines, as a necessary foundation for effective ministry. Possess leadership skills for planting, developing and/or expansion of churches. Experience two or more specific areas of the church’s ministry. Successfully complete an eight-month supervised internship in the area of located ministry.

Applicants should be Christian men and women who are intent on learning more of God, His Son, and the Christian Scriptures, have made a profession of faith in Christ and desire to learn about service to Christ and people and possess a grade 12 diploma or its recognized equivalent. If English is not your first language, a 60% in Alberta English 30 is required.

Test Scores:

  • 2 of Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 83] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7.0]

Applicants must submit: a completed application form along with a $50 non-refundable application fee. An official copy of: high school transcripts and, if applicable, transcripts from each college or university previously attended. A written personal statement, a clear photo of yourself, two references, a signed copy of the Statement of Faith and the Community Life Covenant and a completed Housing Form for Regular Program students.
