|Description:||Classical Studies offers you the opportunity to explore and enjoy the ancient cultures of Greece and Rome. Whether your interests lie in the people themselves, or in their art, their literature, their history, as long as you want to learn more about the great classical forerunners of western culture, our Department has much to offer you. Here you will find some of the most interesting, unusual, and significant course material for an understanding of the ancient Mediterranean world as a parent of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the modern western world, presented to you in a variety of class types and teaching techniques.

Continuation in this academic plan requires a cumulative average of 60% and a cumulative Classical Studies average of 65%. Eligibility for graduation in the Three-Year General Classical Studies academic plan includes successful fulfillment of the following requirements: Appropriate Program-level requirements. See Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements. Classical Studies Plan-level requirements: at least five academic course units (ten courses) in Classical Studies with a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including: CLAS 251, CLAS 252 one of CLAS 231, CLAS 232 one of CLAS 241, CLAS 242 two CLAS courses at the 300-level or above
