Description: Your study of literature will allow you to travel through time and space, encountering the ideas, cultures, and experiences of writers from the medieval period to the present day. You will read the works of English writers from around the globe who have created exquisite art in their poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction writing. As you read, you will discover more about yourself, others, and the human condition—reading literature will change you in unexpected ways.

Studying with the English department at TWU also offers you the opportunity to develop your own creative writing skills, whether you want to learn how to write non-fiction, short stories, novels, poetry, film scripts, or songs. All English courses will help you to become a better writer: our professors are passionate about working with you one-on-one to develop your analytical, writing, and editing skills.

English 12 plus three additional Grade 12 academic subjects at a minimum overall average of 67%. A minimum grade of 60% or better is expected on the provincial examination portion of English 12.
