Description: The Joint Major in English and Communication will give students the opportunity to combine the study of literature, rhetoric and writing, and cultural criticism with inquiry into the history, methods, and social significance of communication. The goal of the program is to graduate students who are adept in the analysis of communication and media, versed in literary and print traditions, and proficient in the creative and rhetorical skills of effective communicative practice. The many natural intersections between these disciplines are well-expressed by the diversity of courses offered in both the English and Communication programs.
