Description: Prepare to interact confidently with Francophone cultures at home and abroad. Develop your knowledge of the French language in order to serve and interact in different cultures. As the only Christian university in Canada to offer French as a major you will work closely with professors and peers in order to maximize your French speaking, listening, writing, and reading abilities. Develop your language skills through coursework and conversation sessions, as well as participate in a variety of extracurricular social and cultural French activities.

Applicants from Ontario are required to have successfully completed Grade 12 U English, and five additional Grade 12 U or M level courses. Students pursuing this program are recommended to have completed Grade 12 U French. Test Scores:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL test score of 600, IELTS test score of 7.0, or CAEL test score of 70. Students who have studied for the last three years in a school where English is the primary spoken/written language may be exempt from language requirements.
