Description: | Although one of the oldest of all university fields of study, Greek and Roman Studies is now enjoying a resurgence of popularity. A degree in Greek and Roman Studies thoroughly prepares students for careers in such fields as education, law, public service, journalism, library science, theology, and for continued study at the graduate level to work in academia. The study of the Greek and Latin languages is one of the best methods for learning the principles of English grammar and vocabulary and the art of clear, concise expression. Virtually all careers require the control of language and the historical perspective that the study of ancient Greece and Rome provides. In the business world, too, employers increasingly state their desire to hire students who can think independently, conduct research, and express themselves clearly. This is exactly the kind of student who graduates in Greek and Roman Studies at UVic. | ||
