Degree: Bachelor
Field of Study: History, General
Description: Historians study everything imaginable. From politics, economics, and the military to the world of everyday life, and all the cultural, social, intellectual and religious developments in between. By investigating people, events, and ideas, Historians learn not only what happened in the past, but more importantly how and why the past has grown into the present. Students will: View the contemporary world historically; Uncover the past through original documents; Explore history through field trips, movie nights, educational travel, and museums.

Prepare yourself for a career in politics, teaching or museums. This degree is also an excellent precursor for studying law or library science. The Bachelor of Arts in History can be taken as a 3-year concentration or a 4-year major. The four year major deepens and broadens the scope of the three year concentration and includes a history practicum and senior research project.
