Description: Humanities at Athabasca University is an interdisciplinary program that draws upon a variety of academic areas, including art history, classics, cultural studies, communications studies, history, literature, music, philosophy, and religious studies.

Graduates of Athabasca University’s B.A. major in Humanities will: have good writing, critical thinking, and library research skills; a basic reading knowledge of a second language; experience in interdisciplinary study within the humanities; accurately integrate data, research and insights from related disciplines; discuss significant debates and changing practices within the humanities disciplines; show some insight into the fundamental ethical, religious and social issues confronted by major thinkers in the humanities disciplines; demonstrate detailed knowledge of at least one specialized interdisciplinary field or area of knowledge within the humanities disciplines.
