Liturgical Arts is for those considering professional employment as church musicians or considering graduate studies. This major emphasizes performance-oriented study in organ, piano, or voice, advanced music history and theory courses, ensembles, and advanced conducting skills. Studies in liturgical arts, work-experience practicums, a required minor in Religious Studies, and other courses from the liberal arts and sciences. |

For admission, students must present a minimum 70% average (with no marks below 50%) in FIVE grade 12 subjects as follows: English 30-1 Three of the following subjects: Biology 30 Chemistry 30 Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2 Math 31 Physics 30 Science 30 Computer Science (Adv, 5 credits) Social Studies 30-1 A 30-Level Language other than English An Approved Fifth Grade 12 Subject Any 5-credit subject, or two 3-credit subjects, other than Work Experience or Special Projects. Special Admission Requirements: – Audition on a solo instrument or voice is required of all applicants to the BMus program. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate advanced abilities in their instrument. – Completion of the Music Theory Placement Examination (MTPE). [Contact the Fine Arts Office (780 679 1532) for more information.] – For students who have passed Royal Conservatory Grade 3 Harmony or equivalent, completion of the Harmony Placement Examination (HPE).
