Its subject matter is global: the scriptures, institutions, teachings, rituals, devotions, iconography, and moral injunctions of all the world’s religious traditions. It addresses this subject matter with the full range of investigative tools available by the various disciplines, especially modern historical and social-scientific human studies.

Combined with appropriate language preparation, it can also open out into graduate work at the master’s and doctoral levels.
