|Description:||Classics involves the study of ancient cultures – particularly, the literature, history, and art of the great civilizations of Greece and Rome, from the period of about 500 B.C. to A.D. 500. Courses are also offered on the Ancient Near East and Egypt. During the Spring and Summer terms, you’ll have the opportunity to take courses in practical archaeology at excavation sites in Italy and Greece.

This program does not allow admission directly from high school. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. Minimum of ★24 units of transferable course weight required. Consult the U of A Calendar for fields of study and appropriate first-year course selection. For consideration, you need a minimum Admission Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 with an average of 3.3 or better in your Honors subject courses; Competitive AGPA varies by field of study from 3.0-3.3.
