Description: | Besides being one of Canada’s official languages, French is spoken around the world – in Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, and the Caribbean. Having a good command of French not only opens up a whole new world of ideas, it is also an asset for careers in teaching, law, government, management, public relations, and international affairs.
The Department has a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the study of French. In addition to language courses, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, the Department offers five areas of study – culture, linguistics, literature, translation and pedagogy (teaching and learning) – in which students explore various aspects of francophone in depth. |
