Field of Study: Mathematics, General
Statistics, General
Description: Mathematics can be thought of as the study of patterns and relationships. Rather than a static, fixed body of knowledge, it is a dynamic, flexible area of study that is constantly evolving. Statistics combines observed data and mathematics to describe and make probablistic inferences about a variety of phenomena that affect our lives directly; the potential applications are unlimited.

Graduates find careers in education, research, industry, government and business. Honours Programs allow specialization in one or more disciplines in the last two or three years and are intended for students of above-average ability. Students who plan to undertake graduate studies are strongly advised to follow an Honours Program. Admission to and completion of Co-operative Education Programs are governed by individual departmental regulations. In general, students participating in the Co-operative Education Program must maintain a GPA of at least 3.5 overall. As a required part of the program, students are employed for specific Work Terms, each with a minimum duration of 13 weeks. This employment is related as closely as possible to the student’s course of studies and individual interest.
