Biochemistry and molecular biology encompass the structure and function of large molecules such as proteins and DNA, the ordered chemical and energetic transformations (metabolism) of living systems and the molecular basis of heredity, cellular communications and cell fate.
The 120 credit hour Major is suited to students who want to focus on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, but wish to have a program that is somewhat less constrained than the Honours program. Biochemistry and
