Description: Creativity is the essence of Science at Western. Engage your intellectual curiosity to recognize the deeper patterns formed from observations, experimentation, facts and probabilities. Subtle mutations in the genetic code can have extensive consequences not only for the individual organism, but also for following generations. Explore a wide range of topics in genetics with emphasis on concepts, principles, modern genetic technologies and their application to diverse organisms from humans to microbes. The Honors Specialization module includes an optional individual research project, as well as a course emphasizing library research on individual topics and communication skills.
