Description: The Major Concentration Economics is a planned sequence of courses designed to permit the student a degree of specialization in economics. It consists of 36 credits in courses approved by the Economics Department.

All students who wish to begin (or continue) the Major Concentration Economics should see a majors adviser in the Department of Economics in each of their university years. Mathematics – NYA, NYB, (00UN, 00UP) (Applicants with Social Science Mathematics – 103, 203 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.) Minimum of four science courses from the following: Biology – NYA, General Biology II (00UK, 00XU), Chemistry – NYA, NYB (00UL, 00UM), Physics – NYA, NYB, NYC (00UR, 00US, 00UT).

Test Scores:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 577] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85]
