|Description:||Economics studies the many ways in which humankind provides for its livelihood. It is therefore concerned with the production of goods and services, with the income that arises from production, and with the uses to which that income is put in consumption, saving and investment. In the language of the economist, Economics studies the problem of efficiency in the allocation of limited productive resources between the alternative and competing objectives of society, the firm and the individual.
The Economics Co-operative Education option provides students with an opportunity to combine their academic studies with four 4-month periods of paid employment in Economics-related positions in the public, private or non-profit sectors. Normally, the expected number of weeks per work term is 15 and the expected number of hours per week is 35. The minimum number of weeks per work term is 12 and the minimum number of hours per week is 35.
