|Description:||In Dal’s Gender and Women’s Studies program, you’ll develop a critical understanding of gender as a category of analysis in scholarly enquiry, social dynamics, cultural expression, and belief systems. You’ll also investigate the ways that gender intersects with other variables such as race, class, and cultural difference. By studying both social and ideological forces, you’ll understand why women’s contributions have been “invisible” in the past.
Students can combine Gender and Women’s Studies courses with courses either in a traditional discipline or with another interdisciplinary program such as International Development Studies, Canadian Studies, or Contemporary Studies.
