|Faculty:||Faculty of Science|
|Field of Study:||Geography
|Description:||Geography is the study of space and how it is used. Map asteroids and planets, discover changes in the earth’s climate by studying tree rings and the social impact of natural disasters. As a Geography student, you will have the opportunity to get computer-based training experiences in cartography, remote sensing, and geographic information systems. Geographers combine social science, natural science, and information systems. This broad, integrative perspective makes Western geographers employable in a wide range of occupations. The Department offers both general geography programs and more specialized ones in Urban Development; Environment, Resources and Development; and Geographic Information Science.
Students may pursue a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with an Honours Specialization in Geography; Geographic Information Science; Environment, Resources, and Development; or Urban Development. Alternatively, they may pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with an Honours Specialization in Geography or Geographic Information Science.
