Description: The Honours Latin-American and Caribbean Studies – Thematic option permits highly motivated students to combine the study of Latin America and the Caribbean with a theme or intellectual focus whose roots extend beyond the geographic confines of this area, and for which a high level of methodological and/or theoretical expertise is required.

Themes of study may include, but are not limited to: ethnography and ethnohistory; the age of European expansion; transnationalism; the concepts and practice of law and justice; nationalism and nation-building; ecology and the management of human and natural resources.
