|School:||Renison University College|
|Faculty:||Faculty of Arts|
|Degree:||Bachelor; Co-op; Honours|
|Field of Study:||Music, General
|Description:||Our aim is to offer a music program with a liberal arts character. This means balancing intensive study in the traditional musical disciplines of performance, theory, and history with courses offering more breadth, such as popular music, jazz, worship and music, world music, and music and gender. Many of these courses represent the way in which we are a unique department since we like to explore the edges of music, the places where it intersects with other parts of our lives, we are looking for students interested both in making music and in asking questions about its relevance in our society. We have chosen to allow the department to grow to a size where it is large enough to create an interesting and vibrant community, but still small enough that it is possible to get to know each student, staff, and faculty member personally.
A student may combine an Honours Music program with Arts and Business.
